33 Visibility
نویسنده
چکیده
In a geometric context, two objects are “visible” to each other if there is a line segment connecting them that does not cross any obstacles. Over 500 papers have been published on aspects of visibility in computational geometry in the last 40 years. The research can be broadly classified as primarily focused on combinatorial issues, or primarily focused on algorithms. We partition the combinatorial work into “art gallery theorems” (Section 33.1) and illumination of convex sets (33.2), and research on visibility graphs (33.3) and the algorithmic work into that concerned with polygons (33.4), more general planar environments (33.5) paths (33.6), and mirror reflections (33.7). All of this work concerns visibility in two dimensions. Investigations in three dimensions, both combinatorial and algorithmic, are discussed in Section 33.8, and the final section (33.9) touches on visibility in R.

متن کاملNeural correlates of color - selective metacontrast in human early 2 retinotopic areas 3 4
25 Metacontrast is a visual illusion in which the visibility of a target stimulus is 26 virtually lost when immediately followed by a non-overlapping mask stimulus. 27 For a colored target, metacontrast is color-selective, with target visibility 28 markedly reduced when the mask and target are the same color, but only 29 slightly reduced when the colors differ. The present study investigated ne...
متن کاملA variational method for vessels segmentation: algorithm and application to liver vessels visualization
We present a new variational-based method for automatic liver vessels segmentation from abdominal CTA images. The segmentation task is formulated as a functional minimization problem within a variational framework. We introduce a new functional that incorporates both geometrical vesselness measure and vessels surface properties. The functional describes the distance between the desired segmenta...
متن کاملPredicting Fork Visibility Performance on Programming Language Interoperability in Open Source Projects
Despite a variety of programming languages adopted in open source (OS) projects, fork variation on some languages has been minimal and slow to be adopted, and there is little research as to why this is so. We therefore employed a Knearest neighbours (KNN) technique to predict the fork visibility performance of a productive language from a pool of programming languages adopted in projects. In to...
